2021.12.07 19:15 okayperiodt How do I get rid of my snoo/avatar?

I want to change my profile to only contain my profile picture but I can’t. While my profile picture does show up when I’m commenting, when I go to my profile my snoo avatar thing shows up instead.
I want to get rid of it so that only my profile picture comes up, but there isn’t an option to get rid of it. When I change my profile picture it still shows up and only my displayed profile pic changes. The only option it gives me is to change my outfit.

I'm super curious. Also. Tons of people don't really focus on foundation. Might there be a way to differentiate the Copper Sight you gain on advancement? "Perfect Copper Eyes"?
Do Sacred Beasts get Jade Cycling techniques that provide different bonuses?
Do they get Gold signs? Can they?

I’m confused. It says 12 carbs / 12 fiber = 0 net carbs per bar?

How is it possible that you can eat as much as you want of this bar without any carb leaks?

I thought cocoa itself has carbs in it and the ingredients show cocoa and chocolate.

Am I missing something? If I make my own using cocoa powder and cocoa butter, would that also be 0 net carb bars?

2021.12.07 19:15 upinthecloudz Vega Fans keep ramping up at low temps.

I have a Vega 64 (Sapphire reference) with a Morpheus II and 2x Gentle Typhoons attached to the GPU via a fan header adapter and splitter. For the last month or so I've been battling the fan behavior on this card, where it wants to ramp the fans up to full speed (2100RPM) for a minute or two before dropping down, even though the temps are low across the board.
Just in case you want to see my fan curve and P-states, here's my current settings in OverdriveNTool
Under higher loads, the fans stay ramped up to 2100RPM even though GPU temps don't go over 55 and hot spot is under 80. Here's all the sensors in HWInfo for reference. I can't see anything out of the ordinary.
If there's not something obvious I'm missing I'm about two steps away from adding a spare Noctua LNA into the fan chain to limit their max speed, but I'd rather leave the option for a full-bore OC (this card will do roughly 1800Mhz at 1.15-1.2v) available if I come across a more demanding title.
It's frustrating because the card used to keep around 1300-1600 RPM at this load (with temps in mid 50s - low 60s) and I did not find the noise very noticeable at that level even with the system on my desk about 5 feet from my ears, but at 2100Mhz I can hear it even with headphones on.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Computer Type: Desktop GPU: RX Vega 64 (w/ Morpheus II) CPU: RYZEN 7 3900x 12 CORE 24 THREADS Motherboard: Asrock X470 Taichi Ultimate BIOS Version: 4.70 RAM: 64 GB G.Skill TridentZ 3200C14@3600C16 PSU: Seasonic 850W Pt Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 ENT 19042 GPU Drivers: Adrenalin Driver Version(s): 21.6.1, 21.10.1, 21.12.1, 21.10.2 Description of Original Problem: GPU fan speed is overly high for given load/temps based on fan curve Troubleshooting: I've tried multiple driver versions, powerplay table changes, clearing powerplay table, full safe mode DDU and fresh recommended driver install, but the fan ramping behavior has been persistent.

2021.12.07 19:15 CrusadingRaptor Need help understanding this convo

Person 1

They have pantheons of deities, those deities mimic human relationships (father, son, mother, daughter, husband, wife, etc.)
Is God not the father, who sent down his Son who was born to a human mother? Does that dynamic not mimic human relationships at all?
and all of those deities have an association, such as with elements like fire or thunder or rain
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahweh
"Yahweh was the national god of the kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah. His origins reach at least to the early Iron Age and likely to the Late Bronze Age. In the oldest biblical literature he is a storm-and-warrior deity who leads the heavenly army against Israel's enemies; at that time the Israelites worshipped him alongside a variety of Canaanite gods and goddesses, including El, Asherah and Baal, but in later centuries El and Yahweh became conflated and El-linked epithets such as El Shaddai came to be applied to Yahweh alone, and other gods and goddesses such as Baal and Asherah were absorbed into the Yahwistic religion."
Take his declaration to Moses, for instance: "I AM WHO AM." That very line implies something far greater than a mere god of wind or rain. It implies One God, a God Who is Existence itself, Who is. That is very strange, especially for an ancient civilization.
The full verse gives that much more context, in which God very much describes himself as linked to a very specific lineage/geography/etc. Perhaps God tailored his words very specifically towards Israelites and described himself as their God, so that they could relate to it (Moses had no idea about other civilizations in the rest of the world).
Exodus 3:13-17 - Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”. God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt, and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”’
Person 2 You are correct that God chose to mimic the relationship of Father and Son through Christ, but there is a key difference nevertheless, being that Christ is an unbegotten child. Human-invented gods have actual children with each other. God describes His relationship with Christ in a way that evokes a child so that we can understand it.
As for the whole Yahweh matter, the evidence you present is an anthropological theory, not proven fact. That the God we know shares His Name with ancient deities isn't necessarily proof that He is the same deity. Remember that His Name is a word in Hebrew, so it can have multiple applications.
Also, linking Himself to a specific lineage is very different than linking Himself to something like fire or rain. God presents Himself to Moses as the God of his ancestors because God chose Abraham to be His chief servant. Other human deities with such associations do not have any real reason for their association with a certain thing: they simply are the god of wind, or rain, etc., without an explanation as to why. That reflects a much more manmade ethos.
Person 1
Human-invented gods have actual children with each other.
Human-invented gods were notorious for also having children with mortal women. Often they preferred virgins (which was tied to being pure, unspoiled, beautiful, etc), and their children occasionally became legends who performed amazing miraculous feats.
God describes His relationship with Christ in a way that evokes a child so that we can understand it.
Assuming God was the one who impregnated Mary with a child, wouldn't that make God quite literally the father of that child in every definition of the word "father"? Granted there is a whole ton of spiritual/immaterial background to that event (e.g. Jesus Christ always existed, yet he still needed to be physically born via a female womb), but at the very least it would meet the criteria of what a fathemotheson dynamic is. Jesus could've just materialized on earth in adult form and started preaching, but it makes sense why God went with the whole father + virgin mother + son route. Humans can relate to that dynamic.
Also, linking Himself to a specific lineage is very different than linking Himself to something like fire or rain.
Granted, but I think it's worth nothing the sheer frequency of God expressing himself (or acting through) sky-based phenomena like winds, storms, rain, fire, rainbows, etc throughout scripture, and almost always speaking (or ascending/descending) from somewhere vertically above. The Hebrew language only has 1 word for sky and heaven (it doesn't differentiate), and it also only has 1 word for wind/breath/spirit. Now, an argument could be made that ancient Israelite language and culture simply lacked the vocabulary to describe what God was actually revealing to them (did God take that into consideration?), and so in their perception of God they kept incorrectly linking him to sky-related phenomena.
From what I understand Catholicism doesn't consider the authors of scripture to be inerrant...so even within the framework of Christianity, could it be true that Israelites were passing on mythical stories (i.e. just another local religion)?
Is God not the father, who sent down his Son who was born to a human mother? Does that dynamic not mimic human relationships at all?
Well "mimic at all" is going to be up for interpretation since it seems a bit subjective, but at the least we can definitively say that it does not mimic it nearly to the same degree that classical pagan religions did. Jesus did not derive his "God"-ness because of his father, it was not passed down to him genetically. For example in greek mythology zeus impregnated someone (I think another goddess, forgot her name) and then they had children. That is not at all what the Christian belief is for Jesus/God as Son/Father. I don't think conceiving a religion where the Son and the Father are literally the same person is really close to mimicking the human family, though I guess there could be a vague semblance simply because they use the terms "father" and "son"--but they are not father and son in the way we think of them in a human family

2021.12.07 19:15 Hahacharadeyouaree Nayeli name cultural appropriation

I am mostly European but I want to use Nayeli for a middle name. Isla Nayeli. I’ve done my research on it and I love the meaning, it means I love you in the Zapotec language. It’s origin is Native American Zapotec. The Zapotecs being a contemporary indigenous people of Mexico, I don’t want to offend anyone or step on any toes. I know cultural appropriation is a very sensitive subject and isn’t black and white. I’d love your opinions on this subject. Thank you!

2021.12.07 19:15 Waitingjohn Another sub 3...

Hi all, sorry another sub 3 post... My plan is to hit this before I turn 30 (November '22) My previous marathon pb is 3:23 in October 2019, I've had a few lapses in motivation and injuries this past year - but raced a 37:48 10k the weekend just gone. I currently run approx 40 miles per week on average, but generally about 40-50. The highest I've peaked at is about 56 miles. I tend to run 5-6 days per week, but have been slacking on the long runs (lately at most 10-12 miles)
I'm looking at an October 2022 marathon as my attempt, but was wondering how would you proceed from today? Would you aim for a Spring marathon too, to build another block on? Or perhaps aim at shorter races before looking to build on the marathon mileage in June/ July time? Do you think this is a realistic goal?
Thanks for your help!
